Stephen: If for example there's an elderly lady whose partner for example might have recently died and she lives on her own, doesn't get out very often. What would a good citizen do to help that lady?
Pat: A good citizen could just knock on the door and ask if that person needed any help, any shopping doing or if somebody was going somewhere you know said "I'm going to such and such a place, is there anything I can bring back for you", or even invite them to come with them if they were physically able to.
Stephen: So, okay sort of ask if they need help with shopping. Even perhaps just to be sociable.
Pat: Just to be sociable.
Stephen: Have a chat.
Pat: Just a smile and say hello it means a lot. I've realised that working in the hospital.
Stephen: Okay.
Pat: Just say hello to people.
Stephen: Okay.
Pat: And just smile at them and they will acknowledge you back.
Stephen: That's excellent. Thank you very much.
