Wendy: What do you think makes a good citizen?
Simon: A good citizen in my opinion is someone who doesn't overstep the boundaries into other areas where they may be causing some unhappiness or some offence. I think a good citizen doesn't drop litter for instance. I think a good citizen wouldn't necessarily comment on somebody's clothing or appearance or indeed colour. I think they're someone who would potentially hold back, and think about what they're doing before they actually go ahead and do it.
I think if people just spend two seconds thinking I'm dropping this crisp packet or chewing gum now, oh just hold on to it a few minutes more put it in the bin. I'm using very diluted ideas but I think that is my idea of a good citizen, is someone who thinks before they act, and actually think about ongoing ramifications. I think that's a ... it's an ethos that does come across quite simply, but it does come across in all aspects of things, someone who just watches what they say and thinks before they talk and acts.
Wendy: Okay.
